Wedding dress of Jacqueline Bouvier

Future first lady Jacqueline married John F. Kennedy in 1953 in the gown, that had been designed by an American-African designer Ann Lowe. The dress was in a very traditional design with half-open shoulders, a V-neck and big round skirt made out of 46 metres of ivory silk taffeta. Rumour has it that Jacqueline did not like the dress’ neckline and the bouffant skirt. However, the gown is one of the best-remembered bridal dresses ever.

Wedding dress of Grace Kelly

In April 1956 a famous Hollywood star Grace Kelly married the Prince of Monaco in the wedding gown that was designed by her friend Helen Rose, the head costume designer at MGM. Grace wore an elegant high-necked, long-sleeved gown with a fitted torso and billowing skirt. It was used twenty-three meters of silk taffeta, ninety two meters  of silk netting, tulle and 125-years old antique Brussels lace to make the dress. Half a century on, yet the gown still makes influence in wedding dresses world.

Wedding dress of Kate Middleton

The royal wedding dress was said to have been inspired by Grace Kelly’s dress. Yet it was made in accordance to British traditions and emphasizes the impeccable taste of the bride. The sleeves, the bodice, the skirt and bridal train were decorated with lace flowers as the rose, thistle, daffodil and shamrock, which are symbols of the kingdoms of Great Britain & Ireland. The back of Kate’s dress was held together by 58 organza-covered buttons and Rouleau loops.

Wedding dress of Angelina Jolie

Probably the most long-awaited wedding of modern times took place in 2014 – Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt went down the aisle. It is no secret that the parents had their six children Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox were heavily involved in their wedding planning. The children created colorful drawing which were featured on the wedding gown and veil by Versace’s head tailor, while Donatella Versace designed the dress.
